Larry Charles Fournerat

Larry Charles Fournerat, 81, passed away on June 11, 2023. He was born on October 22, 1941, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, to Lincoln Charles and Katherine Elizabeth Shaw Fournerat. Larry grew up in Lake Charles and graduated from LaGrange High School. He dedicated 36 years of his life to the Lake Charles Fire Department, retiring as the Deputy Assistant Fire Chief.

Larry was a man of many passions. He found contentment in the outdoors, enjoying hunting and fishing. He had a knack for working on engines and loved the thrill of riding motorcycles. His generous nature was evident to all who knew him, as he was always willing to lend a helping hand. Larry led by example, displaying a good-hearted nature that touched the lives of those around him.

Family and friends held a special place in Larry's heart. He cherished his loved ones, and he leaves behind a lasting legacy of love and devotion. He is survived by his son, Kenneth Lane Fournerat; his granddaughters, Frances Fournerat, and Emma Fournerat; his brothers, David Fournerat, and Kevin Fournerat; and his sisters, Keitha Fontenot, and Mary Diane Cox. Larry also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who will forever hold his memory dear.

Larry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Beulah Faye Winfree Fournerat; his parents; and his brothers, Daniel Fournerat, and Clement Fournerat.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 16, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, with Msgr. Daniel Torres as Celebrant. Following the service, he will be laid to rest in Consolata Cemetery, under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will take place at Johnson Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM, with a rosary being recited at 6:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Friday morning at 8:30 AM and will continue until leaving in procession to the church.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Harbor Hospice for their exceptional care and support during this challenging time. Memorial donations may be made to Our Lady Queen of Heaven in honor of Larry.
