Larue Northcutt Marcantel

September 5, 1941 — January 8, 2023

LaRue Northcutt Marcantel, 81, passed away peacefully Sunday, January 8th, 2023, in a local hospice facility.  She was born on September 5th, 1941, in Luling, Tx. to Callie and Dorothy Northcutt.

LaRue lived in Lake Charles, La., most of her life.  She enjoyed planting her flower garden and nurtured it daily with tender love and care.  She also enjoyed the beautiful chirping sound of her birds.  LaRue’s greatest joy was her family; she loved being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She will be remembered for her love of family and a caring heart.  She was also known for the 25 years she spent working and taking care of the store we all knew as “Sue’s Fill-A-Bag”, while selling Avon for over 30 years she always made sure your order was correct and you had a few extra samples in your bag.  She enjoyed driving her school bus and making sure all the children arrived safely.  All who knew her will miss her dearly.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, John Tankersley and wife Rhonda of Moss Bluff and Monty Pearce and wife Amy of Grand Lake; grandchildren, Sydney Pearce and Blake Pearce, Brittney LeBleu (Kacey), John “Bubba” Tankersley (Kelli), Jared Tankersley, John Linn Hoffpauir (Holly), Sheryl Hoffpauir, and Heather Ames; 19 great-grandchildren; her brothers Donald Northcutt (Carrie), Michael Northcutt (Tina); her sister, Cynthia Foreman (Richard); special Aunt Betty Green; and special cousins Carla Anderson and Erin Kay Fox (Bill), and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Callie and Dorothy Northcutt; great grandchild, Jace Ames; special Aunt Marcine Woodard, and Uncle William Allen.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at 10 A.M. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home with James McCartney officiating. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery in Lake Charles under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 from 4-8 P.M. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home and will resume on Thursday at 8 A.M. until time of the service.
