Laura Rose Dupuis, 80, of Lake Charles passed away at 12:30 PM on Friday, December 18, 2015 in a local care facility.
Mrs. Dupuis was born on September 19, 1935 in Hathaway, LA. She resided in Grand Chenier until moving to Lake Charles in 1978. Mrs. Dupuis was a former member of St. Eugene Catholic Church in Grand Chenier and also of the Moose Lodge in Lake Charles. She belonged to the Ladies Auxiliary VFW as well as the CFMA. Mrs. Dupuis enjoyed volunteer work and would generously give her time to the Cancer Aid and Research and the Children’s Miracle Network.
Those left to cherish her memory are four sons, Michael Dupuis (Adrianna) of Big Lake, Keith Dupuis (Angie) of Lake Charles, Ronald Dupuis of Sweet Lake, and Todd Dupuis (Shannon) of Lake Charles; two daughters, Judy Jones (James) and Monica Dupuis all of Lake Charles; two sisters, Frances “Frankie” Landry of Erath and Elaine Browning of Mesquite, TX; eleven grandchildren; and sixteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Walter Joseph Dupuis and a daughter, June Dupuis.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, December 21, 2015 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. The Rev. Wayne LeBleu will officiate. Burial will follow in Prien Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin on Sunday from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 6:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Monday from 8:00 AM until leaving for the church at 1:30 PM.
