Lawrence Joseph Italio

April 2, 1938 — April 17, 2022

Lawrence Joseph Italio was born April 2, 1938 in New Castle, Pennsylvania to the late Lawrence Frank Italio and Anna Marie Biggerstaff.

Upon graduation he answered the call to serve his beloved country, enlisting into the United States Navy and serving twenty-one years. He was proud of his military service and overjoyed that two of his grandsons answered the call to their country, enlisting into the United States Marine Corp.

For those that knew him, you know his kindness, compassion, true love for his family and his happy disposition. Through his work at Lake Charles and Sulphur Housing Authority, Volunteers of America, and Capital One Community Renewal Fund (COCRF) advisory board member and impact subcommittee board member, and Big Brothers/Big Sisters he was instrumental in helping others help themselves. His kind and gentle soul put people at ease as he guided them through their journey.

His love of family, especially his wife was unprecedented; true love from the moment they met til his last breath, his sweetheart knew she was loved. To his children, as well as grandchildren, he was ever present and their biggest fan.

He passed on Easter Sunday, April 17, 2022. He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Anne Marie Biggerstaff, step-father, John W. Biggerstaff; father, Lawrence Frank Italio.

Those left to cherish his memory; his wife Judy Ann Italio; daughters, Michelle (Butch) Maze and Ann (Charles) Vincent; son, Kevin Italio; sister, Jane (Adrian) Camero; grandchildren, Wesley Maze, Mollie Maze, Charlie Maze, Jessie Vincent, Jenna Vincent, Joseph Vincent, Jacob Vincent, and Joshua Vincent; and his SPAR buddies.
