Leary B. Murphy

Leary B. Murphy, 89, of Lake Charles, LA. passed away on August 26, 2023 at a local care facility.  Leary was born August 7, 1934 in Eunice, LA. to Lucius and Ella Bertrand.  She was a longtime resident of the Lake Charles area and worked for many years in the housekeeping industry.

She loved to visit with her family and drink coffee and laugh. She also loved to thrift store shop and tend to her rose bushes.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter; Ella Grace Johnson, grandchildren; Katrina Talbert, Aaron Johnson, Brice Johnson, Daniel Ralls, Clancy Nordness, and Jacob Higgins along with numerous nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren.

Visitation for Leary will begin at 10:00AM on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at Johnson Funeral Home, 4321 Lake St., Lake Charles, LA. 70605.  A Memorial Service will begin at 11:00AM on Thursday also at the funeral home.  Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.
