Ledia Moss

September 15, 1938 — December 20, 2022

Ledia Comeaux Moss was born on September 15th, 1938 in Mire, Louisiana as the second youngest in a sibling group of fifteen to parents Onezeme Comeaux and Ophelia Castille Comeaux. Her family moved to Sulphur and she graduated from Sulphur High School in 1956. She worked at Savoie’s Frozen Foods on Ruth Street in Sulphur for eleven years before marrying her best friend, Robert Ellis Moss Jr. (Bob) of Sulphur. Ledia enjoyed fishing, crabbing, and cooking for her husband and family. She was the dedicated, loving primary caretaker for her elderly in-laws, Robert (Ellis) and Myron Moss for several years. She was devoted to praying her daily rosary. Ledia loved her family dearly, especially her four grandchildren. She was proud of her Cajun heritage and of the fact that Louisiana French was her first language.

Ledia passed at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital on December 20th, 2022, after a brief illness. She goes on to meet her husband, parents, and fourteen siblings Armide, Nolton, Asa, Bertha, Ena, Carol, Mary, Louise, Lacy, Leza, Horace, Joyce, Willie, and Lee. She is survived by her three children and four grandchildren: her daughter Melissa Moss Cardone and husband Jay Cardone of Lake Charles; her son Craig Moss, wife Beth Moss, and their children Erin, Emily, Elizabeth, and Ethan, all of Sulphur; her son Mike Moss and wife Kathryn Moss of Beaumont, Texas. Ledia is also survived by her sister-in-law Jane Moss Tyner and husband Dr. Fred Tyner of Starkville, Mississippi, along with numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. She will be greatly missed.

The family is thankful to all the staff of Resthaven Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for taking such excellent care of Ledia.

The visitation will be held at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home in Sulphur on Thursday, December 22nd from 4-8 p.m. and rosary will be held at 6 p.m. The funeral will be at Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church in Sulphur with officiant Father John Welch, MS on Friday, December 23rd at 10:00 a.m.
