Lee Clopha Corbello

January 29, 1925 — October 21, 2012

Lee Clopha Corbello, 87, entered into eternal glory on Sunday, October 21, 2012 in a local care facility.


Mr. Corbello was born in Lake Charles, LA to Theresa Miller Corbello. His father Clopha Corbello died six months prior to Lee Corbello's birth. His mother later married Jake Reeves.


His childhood was spent in Manchester, LA. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Iona Jeanette Hebert on January 29, 1949 and resided in Iowa, LA. He was employed by PPG Industries for thirty-five years. He accepted the Lord into his life and was devoted to his love of the Bible and his place as a prayer warrior for others.


Mr. Corbello is survived by one son, Gregory Corbello and wife Linda of Lake Charles; daughters, Donna Corbello and husband David Benavente of Lake Charles and Paula Bordelon and husband Jerry of Lafayette; grandchildren, Heath Corbello and wife Sonya, Sherie Corbello Alston and husband Darian, Ryan Bordelon and wife Tracy, Blake Bordelon, Robbie LeBert and wife Eva, and Seth LeBert; and great-grandchildren, Hunter, Taner, Ashton, Sophia, Susie, Reese Claire, Lakyn, and Andre'.


He was preceded in death by his father, mother, step-father, his wife and all of his brothers and sisters and his daughter-in-law, Anite Corbello.


His funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Chris Fusilier will officiate. Burial will follow in Lacassine Cemetery in Lacassine, LA. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM and continue on Wednesday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.


The family would like to thank Donna and David Benavente for their gentle and loving care of Lee Corbello during many years of illness.
