Lee Greaney, 73, of DeQuincy, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home in the early morning hours of Wednesday, July 28, 2021.
Lee was a native of Great Brittan and a longtime resident of Lake Charles. He was a veteran of the British Army and the Corps of Royal Engineers where he served as ordinance expert. He was educated as a draftsman at Cambridge University. Following his service in the British Services, he served the residents of Southwest Louisiana as a Deputy at the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office as crime scene specialist for sixteen years prior to his retirement. Lee enjoyed shooting guns and spending time with his son.
Preceding Lee in death was his parents, Laurence and Marjorie Broadly Greaney. He is survived by his son, James Greaney, of Lake Charles and a sister, Nadine Laughlin, of England.
A gathering of family and friends will be on Friday August 6, 2021 at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff, 2171 Hwy 171 North, Lake Charles, LA 70611 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Saturday morning from 9:00 until the funeral service begins at 10:00 AM at the Funeral Home. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens in Lake Charles.
