Lena Viglia Roush

Lena Viglia Roush, 103, passed away at 9:00 AM on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at her residence. 

She was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles and a member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.  Lena was a graduate of Lake Charles High School and attended Vincent Business College.  She was employed for 32 ½ years by the Calcasieu Parish Clerk of Courts Office and retired as Deputy Clerk.  After retiring, she cared for her mother and husband until their deaths.  Lena enjoyed visiting and spending time with friends.  She had a great sense of humor, sharp mind and was a wealth of knowledge of family genealogy and stories.

Survivors include numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Ursula Maggiore Viglia; her husband, Zerkel Francis Roush; sisters, Jennie V. Siener, Nancy V. Mancuso, Mary V. Buehler, and Teresa V. Mistretta; and brothers, Joseph J. and Peter Albert Viglia.

A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date. Her graveside services for family will be at Graceland Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.

The family would like to express a special word of thanks to Stacy Hebert, Mrs. Roush’s caretaker who provided excellent and loving care over the past year.

Memorial donations in Mrs. Roush’s memory may be made to the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church or the charity of one’s choice.
