Lenard James “Peanut” Chesson, 63, of Topsy, LA, died at 2:32 AM on Friday, October 13, 2017 in a local hospital.
Mr. Chesson was born November 5, 1953 in Sulphur, LA, where he was raised and lived most of his life until moving to Topsy in 1999. He previously worked as a tanker man on tugboats and most recently as a Crain Operator for Global (Tech Nip) for over seven years. His true passion in life was for horses, working as a jockey and lead rider during his earlier years and even training race horses and owned his own horse transport company. Peanut not only loved horses, but also had a great love for his family and enjoyed trail rides, hunting, fishing, and camping with his friends.
Mr. Chesson is survived by his wife of twenty-nine years, Christine Wheeler Chesson; sons, Christopher Owen and wife Cyndi of Sulphur and Lenard James Ryan Chesson and wife Shelby Conner of Dry Creek; daughters, Leslie Lockhart and husband Chad of Topsy, Randellyn Chesson and fiancée Jennifer Burt of South Carolina and Shaé Chesson of Topsy; brother, Henry James Chesson and wife Elizabeth of Sulphur; and sisters, Tina Chesson of Sulphur, Lorraine Chesson of Topsy, Betty Jean Mullen and husband Edward of Sulphur, and Shana Lynn Chesson of Sulphur; and twelve grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Betty Jo Savoie Chesson; two brothers; one sister; and grandchild, Presley Richard.
His Rosary & Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in LeBleu Cemetery in Fenton, LA. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the start of the Rosary & Service.
