Leola Granger, 75, of Lake Charles died at 5:45 AM January 18, 2014 in a local hospital. Mrs. Leola was born April 7, 1938 in Mamou, Louisiana to Aldis and Enice Granger. She enjoyed working puzzles, growing flowers and cutting grass. She loved being around her family and supporting her children and grandchildren in all that they do. She also loved cooking desserts. Mrs. Leola was a lifelong member of 56 years to St. Margaret Catholic Church. She is survived by one daughter; Vanessa Lounsberry and husband Odis of New Iberia, one son; Jeff Granger and his wife Wanda (Sam) of Lake Charles, LA, four grandchildren; Corey Duplechain, Logan Duplechain and his wife Veronica, Donna Granger, and Derek Granger, two great grandchildren; Aidan and Evan Duplechain. She's preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Alvin Granger; parents; and one sister, Dora Granger. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, January 20, 2014 at St. Margaret Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a Rosary at 6:00 PM Sunday at Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will resume Monday from 8:00AM until time of services. Burial will be at Consolata Cemetery. Father Bill Miller will officiate services.
