Leon James Ellender, 70, of Lake Charles, passed away Saturday, September 21, at his residence with his family by his side.
Mr. Ellender was a Sulphur native, and worked in oil field construction for Duphil Inc. for 19 years. He loved working on cars, lawn mowers, and crabbing. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren and his “little man”, great grandson, Eric Shull.
Mr. Ellender is preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Eva Ellender; and siblings, Barbara Ann O’Quain, Shirley Ann Cantu, Sally Landry, Charles Ray Ellender, Roy Lee Ellender, Joseph David (JD) Ellender, and Edward Ellender.
Those left to cherish his memory are, his wife of 43 years, Barbara; his son, David Morgan and wife Jeanie; 4 grandchildren, Lacey, Dean, Mason, and Jenna; 2 sisters, Evelyn Hennigan and Stella Daigle; brother, Kenneth Ellender; and 2 great grandchildren, Eric and Aiden.
The family has entrusted cremation to Simple Traditions by Johnson Funeral Home.
