Leon "Keith" Hebert

April 3, 1980 — October 24, 2023

Leon Keith Hebert was born April 3, 1980 to Leon Elmus and Roxanne. He was born in Lake Charles but moved to Vinton his freshman year of high school.

His love for sports has been lifelong, in high school he threw the javelin, played baseball, basketball, and football. His love of sports was shared with him by his family. Following graduation from Vinton High School, he attended McNeese State University.

He possessed a boisterous personality and ability to keep everyone laughing which ensured he never met a stranger nor missed an opportunity for a new friend. He lived life to the fullest, enjoying hunting and fishing, one of his most memorable memories was the hours he fought to reel in a tuna. He was a family man, often spending time cooking for and with his mother and son. He enjoyed learning how to barbecue, a skill his best friend Scott Meche has mastered. He made the most of anything he did, making many memories together with his mother and son, visiting Disney, and taking an Alaskan cruise together.

Along with his love of sports and LSU, was his Mardi Gras Krewe. He was a member of Krewe of Chaos and looked forward to each Mardi Gras to polish his outfit for the ball and load the float with beads.

No matter a friend or family, he never missed an opportunity to let you know he valued you in his life. Always giving hugs and affection. He always left you with a smile.

He was welcomed into Heaven on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 by his father, Leon Elmus Hebert and uncle, Dale Hebert.

Those left to cherish his memory; his beloved son, Britan K. Hebert; mother and stepfather, Roxanne and Mitch Manuel; three siblings, Stacey (George) Tull, Michelle (Mark) Reed, and Kacey (Claire) Manuel; nieces and nephews, Jaci, George “Quinn”, Alec, Abby, Marlee, Lynsey, Dutch, and Charlie; his lifelong best friend, Scott Meche; and his Krew of Chaos Mardi Gras family.
