Leona E. Wright

Leona Ellen Wilson Wright, 70, of Moss Bluff, LA died at 1:37 PM on Monday, September 30, 2013 in her residence. Mrs. Wright was born October 10, 1942 in Amarillo, TX, lived in Lake Charles since 1965 and moved to Moss Bluff, LA one year ago. She worked as a realtor for Moffett Reality and was the owner / operator of Leona E. Wright and Associates for eighteen years. She was a member of Christian World Ministries, where she was a part of the Therapon Ministries and was known as the "Rose Lady," taking care of the roses at the original church on College Street. Mrs. Wright enjoyed shopping, fast cars and shooting guns. She also was an animal lover, who enjoyed taking care of strays. She will also be remembered as a great cook, good dancer, and Elvis's #1 fan. Mrs. Wright is survived by her husband of fifty-three years, Henry Houston "Hoot" Wright of Moss Bluff; son, Ray Wright and wife Jennifer of Lake Charles; daughter in-her-heart, Judianne Wright of Lake Charles; grandchildren, Lydia Ann Leona Wright of Tampa, FL, Ray Carson Wright of Dallas, TX, Audra Dawn Wright LaBiche of Lake Charles, Boyd Lyn Wright, Jr. of Moss Bluff, Dalton Houston Wright of Lake Charles, LA and Terry Harvey of Hineston, LA; and great-grandchildren, Ethan and Ezra Wright and Noah John LaBiche. She was preceded in death by her son, Boyd Lyn Wright; parents, Ray and Nellamae Smith Wilson; and sister, Suella Robertson. Her funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, October 3, 2013 at Christian World Ministries under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Pastors George Lee Glass and Jerry Snider will officiate. Burial will follow in Prien Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the church from 11:00 AM until the start of the service.
