Leonard Dean Large, 85, of Lake Charles died at 11:45 AM Thursday, March 15, 2012 in a local care facility with his loving family at his side.
Mr. Large was born in Rising Star, TX to the parents of Jewel and Dewey Large. He has lived in Lake Charles since 2005. Leonard worked as a Mechanic in the oilfield industry for Dowell Division of DOW Chemical before retiring in 1991.
He is survived by his wife Louise Large of Vidor, TX, four sons Robert Dewey Large and his wife Katy of Sulphur, LA, Billy Ray McBryde and wife Kathy, and Lloyd McBryde and wife Connie all of Vidor, TX, Johnny Busby and wife Gloria of Homer, GA, two daughters Patricia Lore and her husband Norman of Sulphur, LA, and Edith Fruge and husband Jerry of Lake Charles, LA, one sister Aleta Tyra of Kingman, AZ, fifteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.
Mr. Large is preceded in death by one son Gary Busby and his parents Jewel and Dewey Large.
Graveside services will be held on Sunday, March 18, 2012 at 3:30 PM at Egypt Cemetery in Colmesneil, TX under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Rev. Roger Templeton will be the celebrant.
