Leonard Nelson Morgan

Leonard Nelson Morgan, 83, of Lake Charles, LA died at 3:21 PM on Sunday, June 16, 2013 in a local care facility.


Mr. Morgan was born May 10, 1930 in Pollock, LA and has lived in Lake Charles for the past sixty years. He served his country in the U. S. Air Force for four years and retired from Hercules / Himont after twenty years of service as an electrician. He enjoyed coaching his children's Little League baseball and softball games, where he will always be remembered for saying, Throw the ball! Mr. Morgan also enjoyed hunting and fishing and liked to tell jokes. He was loyal to his friends and family and enjoyed hanging out with his cousins.


Mr. Morgan is survived by his wife of sixty-two years, Lee Castille Morgan; daughters, Rhonda Davis, Tracie Ardoin and husband Jay, and Lisa Andry, all of Lake Charles; sons, Kurt Morgan and wife Lesley of Beaumont, TX, Troy Morgan and Robin Morgan and wife Jamie, all of Lake Charles; sister, Mildred Morrow of Pollock, LA; nineteen grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard Preston and Virgie Maxwell Morgan; and brother, William Bill Morgan.


Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Private burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery at a later date.
