Leonard Ray Murphy, 72, of Sulphur, LA passed away March 18, 2021 surrounded by his loving family.
Leonard was born on February 3, 1949 in Lake Charles, LA to JW and Eva Murphy. Leonard was an avid golfer, duck hunting guide, and a sportsman of the outdoors. He loved taking boat rides with his grandkids and keeping his loving legacy of his Christian faith throughout his life to all he loved. He was a member of First Baptist of Maplewood for 2 years and a member of First Baptist of Sulphur for 40 years. He worked as a pipefitter at Olin Chemical for 33 years.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 48 years, Naomi Loy Dyer Murphy of Sulphur, LA; two children, Richard Wesley Murphy and Amy Rae DeLano and husband Travis; three grandchildren, Olivia DeLano, Ava DeLano, Isaac DeLano; three siblings, Jay Wayne Murphy and wife Bobbie, Leslie Guilbeaux and husband Mike, Jimmie Murphy and wife Diane; Lifelong best friend, Clark Cormier and wife Medina.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. Visitation will begin from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, March 26, 2021 at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. Visitation will resume on Saturday from 8:00 AM until the time of service. Burial will be at Pinehill Cemetery in Woodlawn, LA. Pastor Jeremy Blocker and Pastor David Holder will officiate services.
