Leone B. LeBlanc, 82, of Lake Charles, LA died on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 in a local hospital.


Mrs. LeBlanc was born May 12, 1928 in Youngsville, LA to the late Elix and Ovilia Benoit. Leone was a resident of Lake Charles, LA since 1968. She was a loving, wonderful, caring and devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother, and friend. She was a very hard working lady with great Faith in God. She was always there to meet the needs of her family and reached out to others in need all around her, she never met a stranger and always had a big smile for everyone. Her greatest passion and love was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her favorite pastime was her flower garden and plants.


She was preceded in death by her husband Milfred J. LeBlanc; son, Ricky J. LeBlanc; and two grandsons, O'Shane B. LeBlanc and Jessy J. LeBlanc.


She leaves to cherish her memories four daughters, Gloria Dean LeBlanc, Peggy Blessing (Edwin), and Deanna Gibbons (Gerald), all of Lake Charles, LA, and Catherine "Cathy" Goodeaux (Jerry) of Ragley, LA; four sons, Ray LeBlanc (Jamie), Michael Tommy LeBlanc, and Charles "Charlie" LeBlanc (Rhonda), all of Lake Charles, LA, and Ronald LeBlanc (Shelli) of Rogers, AR; one brother, R.J. Benoit of Lafayette, LA; one sister, Rose Cormier of Kaplan, LA; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and relatives.


The family would like to express a special word of thanks to Landmark of Lake Charles, Mr. Randy Stelly and his wonderful staff and caregivers who had a special part in her care.


Her funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 31, 2010 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating the service will be her grandson, Pastor Keith Blessing of Memphis, TN. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM and continue on Friday from 10:00 AM until the start of the service.
