Leota Rose Morgan

Leota Rose Morgan, 86, of Lake Charles passed away at 4:51 AM on Saturday, May 5, 2018 in a local care facility.

Mrs. Morgan was born on November 16, 1931 in Church Point and lived all of her life in Lake Charles where she was a graduate of Marion High School. She was a Godly woman who was a faithful member of Bethel Presbyterian Church.

She was a dedicated volunteer who adored her children, whom she referred to as her “chicks”, and her grandchildren. Mrs. Morgan devoted her time to her family but when she had spare time she enjoyed doing yard work and was a master seamstress.

Those left to cherish her memory are her six children, Kurt Morgan (Lesley) of Beaumont, TX, Troy Morgan of Lake Charles, and Robin “OB” Morgan (Jamie) of Ragley, Rhonda Davis of Lake Charles, Tracie Ardoin (Jay) of Basile, and Lisa Morgan of Lake Charles; two brothers, Roosevelt “Rosie” Castille of Merkel, TX and EJ Mouton of Iowa, LA; nineteen grandchildren; and sixteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Leonard Nelson Morgan.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Garden Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Monday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will resume on Tuesday from 1:00 PM until the start of the service.
