Leroy E. Fredericks, Sr., 73, of Lake Charles died at 5:38 AM on Friday, February 28, 2014 in his residence. Mr. Fredericks was born on July 6, 1940 in Kenosha, WI where he graduated from Bradford High School. He joined the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Alexandria where he met and married his wife and began a family. He moved his family to Lake Charles in 1970. Mr. Fredericks started his life long career with Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in October of 1964 as a sales representative where he retired after many years. He was an avid hunter and also enjoyed fishing and playing golf. Mr. Fredericks was a past member of the Knights of Columbus. He adored his family and will be sorely missed. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 52 years, Sadie Fredericks; his children and their spouses, Deanna Fredericks Harless and Steve, Barbara Dawn Fredericks, Dr. Leroy "Butch" Fredericks, Jr. and Patty, Tanya "Tammy" Fredericks Peloquin and Chad, and Rhonda Fredericks Colletta and Tony; brother, Earl Frederick; sister, Christine Gunn; beloved family from Wisconsin, Brenda and Abell, Bruce and Luanne, and Cassie and Beau; and sixteen grandchildren, Ryan, Hannah, Garrett, and Haley Harless, Seth, Kaleb, Jordan, Gambrelle, and Eli Palmer, Caroline and Anna Katherine Fredericks, Trooper, Levi, and Chloe Peloquin, and Mallory and Ty Colletta. He also leaves behind his beloved pet, Penny. He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Helen Wellems Frederick; his father, George Mathew Frederick; and siblings, Arnold Frederick, Bernice Kostelnik, Irene Quardokus, and Harold, Vincent, and Geraldine Frederick. A funeral mass will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at St. Margaret Catholic Church. The Rev. Jeff Starkovich will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin on Wednesday from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue in the funeral home on Thursday from 8:00 AM until leaving for the church at 12:30 PM.
