Leroy Peoples

Leroy Peoples, 82, of Lake Charles, LA, died on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 in a local care facility.

Mr. Peoples was born November 10, 1934 in Winnsboro, LA and has lived in Lake Charles, LA since 1963. He retired from BOC Gases as a Maintenance Manager for the Southern Region, where he retired after over thirty years of service. He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Mr. Peoples enjoyed catching catfish at Toledo Bend and will always be remembered as a wonderful and loving husband, father, and step-father.

Mr. Peoples is survived by his wife, Joyce Granger Peoples; five sons, James Leroy Peoples and wife Marcy, Gerald Lynn Trahan and wife Angela, Brian Keith Trahan and wife Elaine, Joseph Dale Peoples and wife Ramona, and Roger Glenn Peoples; sister, Helen Mae Lee and husband Ray; ten grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James H. and Johnnie Davis Peoples; brother, John Peoples; sisters, Cynthia Temple and Mary Ellen Austin.

His funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church. Monsignor Jace Eskind will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Friday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a rosary at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the funeral home.
