Leslie Allen Boswell

March 17, 1941 — December 13, 2021

Leslie Allen Boswell was the oldest of seven children born to Pastor Elmer Jay and Mrs. Pauline Boswell.  He was born in Leesville, LA on March 17, 1941. He was welcomed into heaven, Monday, December 13, 2021, by; his parents E.J. and Pauline Boswell; his siblings, Joan Gauthier, Roger Boswell, Ronnie Boswell, Janice Waits, Jonathan Boswell, and Keitha Farnum. Those left to cherish his memory: his wife of 38 years, Patricia Monticello Boswell; son, Phillip Scott (Tanya) Boswell; daughter, Leah Christine (Juan) Bossano; grandchildren Natalie Christine (Jeff) Medders, Rachel Elizabeth (Austin) Shaw, Sarah Elise McGee; great grandchildren, Ivy and Oliver Medders and Priscilla Shaw.

Lake Charles became his home when his father relocated to establish and pastor Emmanuel Baptist Church. Leslie was a great musician with a beautiful voice and God-Given talents. As a member of Emmanuel Baptist, he served as the choir director, youth director and Sunday school teacher. He later became a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

He opened Les Boswell State Farm Insurance Company as owner and agent in Jennings, LA. He later opened an independent insurance company in Lake Charles, LA. Leslie and his wife owned several businesses including a custom frame gallery and a pet store.

He was an amazing cook, loved to garden, and loved hunting and fishing. He was an avid fan of LSU and New Orleans Saints football. However, the most important of all, he loved his family. When he became a grandfather, he was no longer “Leslie”; he was now called “Pappy.”   

The family will welcome friends on Monday, December 27, 2021, at University Baptist Church beginning at 10:00 a.m. The service will begin at 11:00 a.m. led by Pastor John Astling with burial to follow at Consolata Cemetery.
