Lester L. Lacour

Lester L. LaCour, 59, of Moss Bluff, LA, while surrounded by his loving family, departed from this life in a local hospital on Friday, February 19, 2016.

 

Lester was born on September 26, 1956, in Lake Charles, LA, to Lester and Betty LaCour. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, umpiring, and being an avid sportsman. Lester was a graduate of Barbe High School, where he played football. He was very involved in the Moss Bluff recreational sports community and had a passion for buddy ball. Lester loved spending time with family, friends, and his precious granddaughter, Giada Claire, whom he nicknamed ‘Little Red’. Known for his work ethic and dedication, Lester was a professional carpenter for 42 years, and a dedicated member of Eastwood Pentecostal Church. He is remembered as a loving husband, father, and Papa.

 

Left to cherish his memory is his sweetheart of 40 years, Connie LaCour; two children, Gavin LaCour and wife Monica of Sulphur, LA, and Kari Hammers and husband Daniel of Moss Bluff, LA; one granddaughter, Giada Claire, to whom he was a very proud papa; two brothers, Ray LaCour and John LaCour; and many nieces and nephews.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Bobbie Ruth and Linda; and mother and father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Steve W. Bruney.

 

Visitation and Funeral services will be held at Eastwood Pentecostal Church with Rev. Aaron K. Lopez officiating. Visitation will begin at 4:00 PM and be held until 9:00 PM Tuesday, February 23, 2016, and continue February, 24, 2016, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM February 24th, with interment to follow at Old Ritchie Cemetery in Moss Bluff.
