Lester Paul Gaspard, 63, of Lake Charles, LA, passed away at 4:28 PM on Saturday, May 12, 2018 in his residence, surrounded by his family.
Lester Paul Gaspard was born on July 20, 1954 in Lake Charles, LA to Lester Joseph Gaspard and Betty Jo Leger. He always stayed strong in his faith while raised as a Catholic here in Lake Charles and attended LaGrange High School. For fourteen years he enjoyed being an Assistant Leader for the Boy Scouts of America. Fishing and hunting were a couple favorite pass times for Mr. Gaspard, as well as gardening. For the past twenty years he worked for Chennault Air Base as the Lead Maintenance and enjoyed his time with his co-workers. He always held his family and friends near to his heart.
Left to cherish Mr. Gaspard’s memory is his loving wife of twenty-seven years, Darlene Gaspard; loving pet, Bob; daughter, Raquel Darlena Lyles and husband Lee; son, Morris Perkins II; mother, Betty Jo Gaspard; grandchildren, Taylor, Katie, Tyler, and Morris III; siblings, Billy Gaspard and wife Glenda; and Nona Reid and husband Mike; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lester Joseph Gaspard; as well as his sister, Tina Landry.
Mr. Gaspard’s family would like to extend a special Thank You to the employees of Chennault Air Base for their understanding, care, and compassion shown to Mr. Gaspard while he worked along-side them. They would also like to extend a special word of thanks to Dr. Mark Williams and Ms. Robin, Dr. Mohamid Khan, NP Lacey Vasiliakis and staff, and Dr. David Chang and staff.
A gathering of family members and friends will be held at Johnson Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a prayer and music tribute at 6:00 PM.
