Letrecia Reeves

Letrecia "Bossy, Sassy, and Classy" Reeves, 90, passed away on March 27, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 4, 1935, to Estal and Marie Eggers in Covington, Indiana, and lived a life filled with strength, love, and unmistakable personality.

Letrecia was a woman who spoke her mind-if she loved you, you never doubted it, and if she didn't, well, you knew that too. Her boldness was matched by her unwavering devotion to her family, and she showed her love not just through words but by giving her time and being present for those she cared about.

For over 45 years, Letrecia raised Pomeranian dogs, at one point owning 29 beloved pups that brought her joy. Raising dogs and taking care of her animals was her pride and joy. Most of her time was spent ensuring that all of her animals were well fed, trained to get up and go to bed, and most importantly be loved by her. She adored her parrot Juliet wo learned to bark like a dog! And her precious cats. She was a woman who took pride in looking her best, always leaving the house with her hair perfectly styled, makeup flawless, and draped in her favorite jewelry.

Letrecia was a true matriarch, always there for her family and ensuring they knew they were loved. Her vibrant personality and loving spirit left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

She is survived by her children: Estal Owen Reeves (Kathy), David Lee Reeves, Melissa Hendrix (John), and Jim Reeves, along with her son-in-law Jimmy Trotti; her brothers Jr. Eggers (Marianna) and Sonny Eggers; her fourteen grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Raleigh James Reeves; her daughter, Mary Elizabeth Trotti; her parents, Estal and Marie Eggers; and her sister, Lulu Eggers.

A funeral service will be held in Letrecia's honor on Monday, March 31, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Johnson Funeral Home in Moss Bluff, with a graveside service to follow at Old Richie Cemetery. Visitation will be open to the public on Sunday, March 30, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home in Moss Bluff and will resume on Monday morning at 9:00 a.m. before the service.

In lieu of flowers, Letrecia's request was that all donations be made towards the Calcasieu parish animal shelter, ASPCA, and the Humane world for animals (formerly the humane society).

Letrecia's fierce love and unforgettable presence will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew her.
