Lex Martin

Lex Michael Martin, 63, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 surrounded by his family in Lake Charles, LA. He was born on May 8, 1961 to Joseph Harry Martin and Jeanelle Bertinot Martin on the Air Force Base in Sacramento, CA.

Lex loved sports from a young age as he played football in high school, and he became a huge LSU and Saints fan. He loved golfing and coaching his son in soccer, baseball, basketball and football. He never missed a game. He was a truck driver at the early age of 19 and joined the Marines at age 24 and served as an MP during the Gulf War. He was honorably discharged and continued his truck driving career. He loved all his son's friends, and they all called him "Mr. Big Lex." He is loved and will be dearly missed.

Those left to cherish his memory are, his beloved wife, Deborah House Martin; his parents, Joseph and Jeanelle Martin; his daughter, Darcie Nicole Martin; his son, Lex Michael Martin, Jr; his grandchildren, Willis Joseph Carron, Jr., and Cadence Angelle Carron; his great grandchild, Ski Nicole Alexander; his sisters-in-law, Tish Hoffpauir (James Johnson) and his nephew Ross Hoffpauir, and sister Alexis Martin Menard (John) and his nephews Blake Menard, Joseph Menard, and his niece Jeanelle Menard; his brother-in-law, Frank House (Blanche); and his niece, Sarah E. House. He was preceded in death by his sister, Rachel Martin, and his nephew, Michael Menard.

Lex's funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, March 29, 2025 in the Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles Chapel. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 11:00 AM until the start of the service at 3:00 PM.
