Lg Leblanc

January 21, 1933 — November 22, 2020

Lenus George LeBlanc, 87, of Lake Charles, passed away suddenly on November 22, 2020 at his residence.

L.G. (Len) was a native of Hathaway, where he began his education and graduated from Hathaway High School. He honorably and faithfully served our country in the United States Air Force achieving the final rank of Captain. He attained many personal educational milestones from SLI (ULL), University of Michigan, and McNeese; and was a public and parochial education teacher for many years. Most importantly, he and his late wife, Ann, served the ministry of Christ the King Catholic Church for over 40 years. L.G. served as Lector and Eucharistic Minister and many other ministries that the church was involved with. He was a faithful servant of the Lord, his family and friends and will be deeply missed.

Preceding L.G. in death are his parents, Elzy (Jack) and Valentine Courville LeBlanc; brother, Arnold LeBlanc; and devoted wife of 51 years, Ann Christiansen LeBlanc. Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memories are his children, Janet L. Hollier and husband Jim, Shreveport; Jacques E. LeBlanc and wife Glenda, Lafayette; Patrick LeBlanc and wife Angela, Shreveport; Maria Allen and husband Matt, Lafayette; Twelve grandchildren; six great grandchildren; brothers, Charles LeBlanc and Lonnie LeBlanc; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

Due to funeral home limitations as a result of Hurricane Laura, visitation will be at University Baptist Church, 4505 Lake St., Lake Charles, on Friday November 27, 2020 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a rosary to be recited at 6:00 PM. Graveside funeral rites and military honors will be observed at 11:00 AM on Saturday November 28, 2020 at the Bertrand Cemetery near Hathaway, all under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. The family will celebrate a Mass following the renovation of his beloved Christ the King Catholic church, truly a second home to him. Mass details to be announced at a future date.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Hollier, Aaron Hollier, Erik Guillory, Jacques LeBlanc Jr, Christopher LeBlanc, Adam LeBlanc, John Allen, and David Allen. Honorary pallbearers are Rachel Guillory and Daniel Hollier.

Memorial remembrances in lieu of flowers are requested to be made to St. Mary’s Training School, 6715 LA Hwy 1, Boyce, LA 71409.
