Lillian Joyce Pringle McNeal, 87, of Lake Charles, formerly a longtime resident of Alexandria, died peacefully in her home on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 surrounded by her family. Lil was a resident of Alexandria, LA from 1960 till 2003, and a member of Horseshoe Drive United Methodist Church that entire time, and enjoyed singing in the church choir for many decades. She moved to Shreveport, LA from 2003 till 2011, and finally and moved to Lake Charles, LA in 2011 to be nearer family. She was a member of St. Luke Simpson United Method Church in Lake Charles since 2011. She loved most in life being surrounded by family and friends, listening to music and singing in the church choir, and the sights and sounds of chirping song birds. She is preceded in death by her parents, William Henry Pringle and Anna Mabel Petty Pringle of Shreveport, LA, her husband of 52 years, Royce Clyde McNeal of Alexandria, LA, granddaughter Abbey Lynn McNeal Kees of Pineville, LA. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Brenda McNeal of North Richland Hills, TX, son and daughter-in-law Steven and Mary McNeal of Lake Charles, LA, grandchildren, Jennifer McNeal Shertzer of Plano, TX, and Jamie McNeal and Lindsay McNeal both of Lake Charles, LA, Clayton McNeal and Katie McNeal of North Richland Hills, TX, 3 great grandchildren, Aiden Shertzer and Ivy Shertzer of Plano, TX, and Olivia Kees of Pineville, LA, sisters Margaret "Bebe" Nelson of Shreveport, LA and Hazel Reel of Bismark, AR, brother and sister-in-law Will Marvin and Sandra Pringle of Minneapolis, MN, and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at Hixson Brothers Funeral Home at 701 Jackson St., Alexandria, LA from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday September 12, 2014, and at Horseshoe Drive United Metodist Church in Alexandria, LA from 9:00 AM till 10:00 AM Saturday. Funeral services will be conducted at HDUMC at 10:00 AM Saturday September 13, 2014 with the Reverends Jack Odell and Henry Bowden, both of St. Luke Simpson United Methodist Church in Lake Charles officiating. Burial will follow the services at Alexandria Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Woodworth, LA. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Heart of Hospice, church members and friends, as well as her personal caregivers for the loving care, support and attention given to her during her final days and weeks. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be sent to either Horseshoe Drive United Methodist Church in Alexandria, LA or St. Luke Simpson United Methodist Church in Lake Charles, LA in Lil's memory.
