Lillie Abate Dingler, 95, of Lake Charles died on Sunday, December 21, 2014 in a local care facility. Mrs. Dingler was born on July 23, 1919 in Kinder, LA and lived in Lake Charles most of her life. She was a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, and working in her yard. Those left to cherish her memory are a son, Vincent Abate and wife Waverly; a daughter, Mary Reed and husband Burkman of Lake Charles; three step sons, Johnny Ralph Dingler of West Monroe, Gary Dingler and wife Terri of Bradenton, FL, and John Dingler of Lake Charles; two step daughters, Phyllis Fox and Susie Fontenot both of Lake Charles; five grandchildren, Pam Bourgeois, Karen Estep, Jack Abate, Michael Abate, and Jason Reed; eleven step grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband of 30 years and father of her children, Jack Abate; her second husband of 40 years, John B. Dingler; a sister, Isabelle Lane; and two brothers, Marvin A. Vidrine and Kirby B. Vidrine. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 Am on Wednesday, December 24, 2014 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Deacon Harold Nixon will officiate. Burial will follow in Prien Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Tuesday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 6:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Wednesday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
