Lillie Mae Barnes

Lillie Mae Barnes, 89, passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2016.  Lillie Mae was born to Rene Jene Meliet and Rose Bertha Meliet in LaPlace, Louisiana on February 14, 1927.  She has two living brothers who reside in Baton Rouge.

 She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and three brothers.  Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Richard James Barnes of 74 years; two sons, Richard J. (Butch) Barnes, Jr. and wife Brenda and Bobby Lee Barnes and wife Bridget; two daughters, Betty Jean (Jeanie)Ellender and husband Herman and Sheryl Ann Welch and husband Donnie; ten grandchildren, Jim Barnes, Chris Barnes, Tina McFarland, Scott Barnes, Michelle Barnes, John Ellender, Jason Ellender, Donald Welch, Daniel Welch and Dow Welch; 18 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren. 

A small gathering will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at 1 PM at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home in Sulphur.  Burial will follow at Mimosa Pines South.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 from 9 AM until the gathering starts.
