Linda Ann Howard Goss, 74, of Westlake passed away Monday, December 29, 2014 in a local hospital. Mrs. Goss was born in Corsicana, TX, raised in Orange, TX and has lived most of her life in Westlake. She was a graduate of Lutcher Orange High School and Port Arthur Business School where she attained a degree in Business. She worked her younger years as a secretary for Standard Supply, Southwest Builders and Goss Construction. Following her position as a full time wife and mom, Mrs. Goss began working, alongside her husband, as the Office Manager for Texoma Tank. She retired with the same company, NES Rentals, at the time of her retirement. She was formerly a member of Order of the Eastern Star in Westlake and the American Business Women's Association of which she traveled throughout the United States as a representative for conventions. She also traveled throughout Louisiana and her mother throughout Texas as representatives of Tierra Glassware. During her later years she traveled extensively with her family to follow NASCAR racing to Daytona, Talladega, Bristol and Charlotte and Texas. She also enjoyed college football and was an avid LSU fan, supporting their football, baseball and softball programs. Her greatest joy, her family, having followed her boys to countless sporting events, into countless duck blinds, and was the founder of the closing day "Wine and Cheese" hunt. There was nothing she wouldn't do for her "Honey" and their boys. Her love continued to grow with age as she took pride in being active in the lives of her grandchildren. Mrs. Goss was an active member of First Baptist Church of Westlake and Sunday school. She leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted husband of fifty five years, Lester G. "Honey" Goss of Westlake; two sons, David G. Goss and wife Tonya M. of Birdnest and Damon K. Goss and wife Stacy M. of Westlake; three grandchildren, Hunter Racca and Evan and Eli Goss, all of Westlake; her mother, Ruth Ragan Lucas of Orange, TX; two brothers, Kenneth Howard and wife Betty of Sacramento, KY and Michael Lucas and wife Cyndi of Orange, TX; granddaughter of heart, Jessica Gary of Lake Charles and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Lucas. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Friday, January 02, 2015 at First Baptist Church of Westlake. Deacon Oliver McGuire will officiate. Interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Westlake. Visitation Thursday will be from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM and Friday from 9:00 AM until the time of service in the church. Pallbearers for the service will be Max "Pistol" Caldarera, Lane Daughdrill, Billy Doherty, Chad Evans, Ed McGuire, Randy Weathersby and Don Witherwax. Honorary pallbearers will be her fellow Sunday school class.
