Linda Ann Queenan

May 27, 1948 — September 12, 2023

Linda “Maw Maw” Ann Lognion Queenan, 75, passed away peacefully at her residence on Tuesday September 12, 2023 with her family at her side.

She was born in Lake Charles to Louis and Rena Thibodeaux Lognion and attended LaGrange High School. When younger, Linda enjoyed dancing, riding horses and watching her sons and husband ride motorcycles. She enjoyed family vacations for many years on the beaches of Florida. Her late husband, Rick, was the love of her life. They could “jitterbug” the night away!

Linda was a very creative person, loved making floral arrangements, decorating her home and the homes of friends and family. Her husband and her were members of the Buccaneers, with Linda hand making all of their costumes, including his Jean Lafitte costumes.

Being very strong in her Catholic Faith, she was a member of Christ the King, St. Martin De Pores, and Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Churches at different times of her life. She was a member of the St. Joseph Table, Altar Society, Choir and Eucharistic ministry teams.

Those left to cherish her memory are her two sons, Richard Tyson Queenan (Genne) and Trent Everett Queenan; grandchildren: Ryan Queenan; Kaylin Trahan (Johnny); Lindsey Self (Adam); Luke, Zachary, Emily, Trent, Trace, Kloey, Kiley and Tyler Queenan; five great grandchildren; sister Patsy Harville (Johnny) and her life long best friends, Callie Maddox and Janice Broussard as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family of the heart. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers.

Visitation will be at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church on Friday September 15, 2023 from 11:30 AM until 1:00 PM. A Rosary is to be recited at 1:00 PM with a Mass of Christian Burial to celebrated by Monsignor Danny Torres beginning at 2:00 PM. Entombment will follow at Consolata Cemetery, all under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles.

The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to the nurses, doctors and staff of St. Joseph Hospice for their exceptional care and to Genne Queenan and Elise Smith for taking care of Linda in her final days.
