Linda Denby

Linda Lou Smith Denby, 72, of Lake Charles, LA, died at 4:24 AM on Monday, August 17, 2015 in a local hospital. Mrs. Denby was born December 6, 1942 in Lake Charles, LA. She was an active and devoted member of Livingway Pentecostal Church for over thirty years. She loved children and many that she watched in her home still refer to her as MawMaw. She will always be remembered for her personality. Mrs. Denby is survived by her daughter, Carla Jo Turner and husband Clif of Colorado Springs, CO; grandson, Brandon Turner; great-granddaughter, Maliah Reed Turner; half-brother, Brian Smith of Sulphur, LA; and dear family friends, David and Kathy Pendley and their children, Alex and Chase. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at Livingway Pentecostal Church. Reverend Charles Nugent will officiate. Private burial will follow in Royer Cemetery in Sulphur, LA. Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Tuesday, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and continue on Wednesday at the church from 9:00 AM until the start of the service.
