Linda Gay Matthews, 62 of Sulphur passed away on July 10, 2012 in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 13, 2012 at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Sulphur, LA with Dr. David Holder and Rev. Ney Vickers officiating. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss, LA under the direction of Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 12, 2012 from 4-8 p.m. at Robison Funeral Home with no other visitation until time of service at church on Friday. Linda was a native and long-time resident of Sulphur. She was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church of Sulphur. Linda is survived by her husband of 43 years, Robert Matt Matthews of Carlyss; mother, Mary Thistrup of Choupique , LA; six sisters, Theresa Pruitt of DeQuincy, Ann Lebrun and husband, Jerry of Carlyss, Anita Lebrun and husband, Roland of Choupique, LA, Rosalie Thistrup of Sulphur, Easter Mae Broussard and husband, Gene and Mary Ann Hoelzer and husband, Harold all of Choupique, LA; three brothers, Wilson Thistrup and wife, Kathy of Westlake, Wilton Buddy Thistrup and Marie of DeQuincy and Gilbert Thistrup and wife, Billie BJ of Selma, AL; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her dad, Daniel Thistrup; and two brothers, Neilson and Jimmy Thistrup.
