Linda Kathleen Dumesnil West

Linda Kathleen Dumesnil West, 60, of Lake Charles, LA died suddenly and unexpectedly at 6:06 PM on Monday, November 25, 2013 at a local hospital, surrounded by her family. Ms. West was born October 13, 1953 in Lake Charles, LA and was a 1971 graduate of LaGrange High School. She was raised of the Catholic Faith, attending Our Lady Queen of Heaven and attended Glad Tidings Assembly of God. She worked thirty years as a paralegal for a number of local law firms, most recently Plauche, Smith and Nieset. Her passion was for her family and enjoyed taking sister trips to the beach. She was always helping others, even in her death, she gave the gift of life through organ donation with LOPA. Ms. West is survived by her daughter, Mariah Kathleen West of Lake Charles; mother, Shirley Micelle and husband Jerry of Lake Charles; brother, David Dumesnil of Dallas, TX; sisters, Renee LeBleu and husband Dwight of Lake Charles, Lee Ann Chapman and husband Ken of Dallas, TX, and Shirline Brydels and husband Leon of Ragley, LA; lifelong friend, Victor Assunto of Lake Charles; grandchildren, Lily West and Conner West; granddog, LolaBaby; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and other family members. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Dumesnil and nephew, Aaron Chapman. Her funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Anthony LeBleu will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM and continue on Saturday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
