Linda Marie Hanks

Linda Marie Hanks, age 76, of Lake Charles, Louisiana, passed away on Sunday          October 1, 2023.  She was born on October 8, 1946 in Lake Charles, Louisiana to the       late Wilbert and Dorothy DeRouen.

She was a faithful member of St. Theodore Catholic Church and a dedicated member of the St. Theodore Altar Society for many years.  Linda was a devoted wife and mother who raised two twin boys whom she adored.  She enjoyed baking, sewing, dancing and loved spending time with her family.  Linda also looked forward to seeing her Pokeno ladies at their monthly outings.

Linda was preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, Claby John “Johnny”  Hanks.  She is survived by her sons, Ronald Hanks (Jill) of Lake Charles, La and Donald Hanks (Michelle) of Cartersville, Ga; grandchildren, Charlotte Hanks (Jake Casey), Torey Morris (Jesse), Chace Matthews (Paul), Shay Butter (Dustin), Dylan Hanks (Haley), Dalton Hanks (Mallory), Dustin Hanks (Dannielle Veley), Kaitlyn Mathis (Tate), step grandchildren, Clint Habetz (Courtney), Garrett Habetz (Tanya Richardson),  and Zoe and Zack Vera.  Sixteen great grandchildren, Beatrice “Bea” Casey, Casen, Marisa and Avis Jean “AJ” Morris, Marian Jean “MJ” Matthews, Harper Cornett and Paislee & Briggs Butter, Henley and Baylor Hanks, Carsen Hanks, Cole Chapman and Gunner Habetz, Hagen and Kegan Richardson, and Coy Habetz.  She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 4, 2023 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00pm at Johnson Funeral Home Moss Bluff, 2171 N Hwy 171, Lake Charles, La 70611.  Visitation will continue Thursday October 5, 2023 beginning at 8:30am at the funeral home.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am Thursday at St. Theodore Catholic Church in Moss Bluff with burial to follow at Consolata Cemetery in Lake Charles.
