Linda Ruth Newmister

Linda Ruth Newmister, 72, of Lake Charles passed away at 5:55 PM on Sunday, July 23, 2023 in an Alexandria care facility.  

Ms. Newmister was born on January 1, 1951 in Lake Charles where she was a lifelong resident.  She was a graduate of Iowa High School.  

She cherished time spent with family and enjoyed going fishing. 

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, William Guillory (Michelle) of Kinder, Donald Guillory (Kristen) of Baton Rouge, and Shaun Guillory (Erin Hilburn) of Sulphur; sisters, Lela Drinkard of Hanceville, AL and Lois Koch of Monroe City, MO; thirteen grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Annie and William Reeves; husband, James Eli Newmister; son, Quenton Guillory; brothers, Donald and Larry Reeves; and a sister, Gay Nell Reeves.

A private graveside service will be held under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home in Highland Memory Gardens.
