Linda Ryan Rogers

Linda Ann Ryan Rogers, 68, of Lake Charles passed away Thursday, August 17, 2023 in the comfort of a local healthcare facility. 

Mrs. Rogers was born, educated and lived most of her life in Lake Charles. She was in the first graduating class of Barbe High School in 1973. She later went on to attend Sowela Technical School and began working at the Lake Charles Housing Authority. There she worked as an office manager. In 1991, She married her love and moved to Beaumont, TX for 25 years. The two enjoyed trail riding, Zydeco’s, and traveling extensively. She also enjoyed shopping sales, online shopping and sharing her finds with her family and friends. Mrs. Rogers loved living a very simple and laid-back life. Linda had a very powerful prayer life that included an unwavering faith in god and a consistent prayer life.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Shawn Duhon – Kelly of Suwaee and husband Tyrone Kelly of Suwanee, GA; grandson, Ethan Quinn Kelly of Suwanee, GA; son of heart, McKeithen Duhon of Lake Charles; two sisters, Nancy Ryan and Lilly Vincent, both of Lake Charles; one brother, Milton Ryan of Lake Charles and brother-in-law, Herman Rogers (Mary Ann) of Beaumont, TX. She also leaves her Godson and nephew, Justin Vincent and wife Angie of Zachary, LA; nephew, Frank Paul and wife Alejandra of Cypress, TX; two nieces, Joyce Ryan of Lake Charles and Jennifer Ryan of Houston, TX; niece/dear friend, Frances Alfred; and her neighbor/friends Donna Boudion and Elliot (Dee) Thierry, all of Beaumont, TX. 

She was preceded in death by parents, Henry Earl Ryan and Selidia Victorian Ryan and husband, Thomas Rogers, Sr.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 1:00 Saturday, August 26, 2023 at St. Martin De Porres Catholic Church under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Monsignor Jace Eskind will officiate. Interment will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation Saturday will be from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM in the church.
