Linden Hill Cox, 72, of Lake Charles, passed away on Sunday July 21, 2024 in the comfort of her home.
Linden, born December 15, 1951 in Baton Rouge, grew up in Alexandria. She attended Northwestern State University and McNeese State University, completing her education with a Masters +30 in Curriculum and Instruction. Linden was a longtime resident of the Lake Charles area, retiring with 26 ½ years of service. Most of her career was spent at W. W. Lewis in Sulphur, dedicated to making a positive impact on, and preparing, students for, their future.
Linden attended Trinity Baptist Church and was active in the Women’s Bible Study Group. She also enjoyed traveling. Her love of oceans, beaches and marine life was evident in the frequent family cruises she had taken, including scuba diving and snorkeling during shore excursions.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Tom Elmo and Alice Evans Hill; and her brother, Thomas Elmo Hill, III. Those left to honor and cherish her memories, her children, Tom Turpin (Joanie), Sulphur; Rosalind Farque (Stephen), Lake Charles; Chelsea Nolen (Walt), Carlsbad, California; grandchildren, Morgan Bean (Amber), Tyler Turpin and Caitlyn Huffman (Austin); Evan Farque, Noah Farque, Della Rose Farque, Holland Nolen, Jack Nolen and Kade Nolen; three great grandchildren; sister, Mary Alice Kritsonis (Bill), Houston as well as 2 nieces, and extended family of the heart.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday July 26 at Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles and will continue on Saturday July 27, from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM. A Celebration of her life will begin at 10:00 AM Saturday with Rev. Darin Worthington officiating. Burial will follow at Alexandria Memorial Gardens in Woodworth, Louisiana.
