Linton J. Thibodeaux

March 30, 1931 — January 29, 2022

Linton Joseph Thibodeaux, 90, passed peacefully from this Earth in his residence in Magnolia, Ms., on Saturday, January 29, 2022.

Mr. Thibodeaux was a native of Church Point LA, and lived most of his life in Lake Charles, LA, until 2021. Mr. Thibodeaux was a master welder by trade and worked his career until his retirement from Citgo Refinery, Lake Charles. He was also a Lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus.

In his younger years, Mr. Thibodeaux loved hunting and fishing, with fishing being his favorite. He also enjoyed making his signature gumbo and teaching his children the secret to making his crab stew. He received many accolades for his cooking talent, and many rewards for his special craft. Another passion he shared with his wife of 46 years, Estelle Thibodeaux, was dancing. He and his wife were members of the Cajun French Music Association where they received many awards. He was a passionate care giver to his wife, Estelle until her passing in 2019. In his later years, if he wasn’t cooking and telling stories of his childhood, he was busy watching his favorite episodes of “Gunsmoke” or “The High Chaparral” telling spoilers to what happens next. He was and always will be loved, and missed by his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

He leaves to carry on his memories and stories his four children, Pamela Wooley, Judy T. Johnson, and husband Ronnie, Volina (B.B.) Thibodeaux and wife Sonya, Valree T. Parr, and husband Mike, all of Mississippi. nine stepchildren, Gary Bordelon and wife Annette, Gail B. Courtney and husband Jim, Greg Bordelon and companion Maria, Brent Bordelon and companion Margo, Mark Bordelon and wife Dana, Phyllis B. Miller and husband Ricky, Steven Bordelon, Lisa B. Henry and Husband Roger, and Cindy B. Armentor and husband Randy, all of Lake Charles, and sister, Mary Thibodeaux, along with many grand, great grand, and great, great grandchildren.

Mr. Thibodeaux was preceded in death by his parents, Clinton, and Eva Doucet Thibodeaux, two sons, Terry W. Thibodeaux, Leevance W. Thibodeaux; son in law, Billy N. Wooley; four brothers, J.B. Thibodeaux, Weston Thibodeaux, Westly Thibodeaux, and Henry Thibodeaux; two grandsons, Jason Todd Miller, and Robert Alan Bordelon.

Visitation will be at University Baptist Church on Wednesday, February 2, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited beginning at 6:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be observed at 11:30 AM Thursday, February 3, 2022, at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, Lake Charles. Father Rojo Koonathan will serve as celebrant. Burial will be alongside his beloved Estelle immediately following the Mass at Highland Memorial Gardens
