Linus Joseph DeVillier, 91, of Sulphur, LA passed away on March 14, 2021 in a local care facility.
Linus was born on February 22, 1930 in Mamou, LA to Hurdy and Maya DeVillier. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, racehorses, and gardening. He enjoyed being around friends and family. Proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War and was a member of the VFW.
Survivors include, stepdaughter Deidre Veillon and husband Gerald; stepson, David Fontenot; step grandchildren, Joshua Fontenot and wife Charmane, Bridgette Fontenot and Casey Marshall and husband Cody; great grandchildren, Brylon Fontenot, Rye, Madilyn, and Finlee; nephews, Herman Guillory Jr. and wife Delmay, Danny Guillory, and David Guillory; niece, Janet Miller; great nieces and nephews, Kevin Guillory, Craig Guillory, and Kristi Guillory Munzing; and great great nieces and nephews, Morgan and Phillip Demoura, Ashley Dewees, and Hilda Demoura, Marion Demoura, Taylor Guillory, Karli Guillory, Brennen Guillory, and Alyse Guillory.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hurdy and Maya DeVillier; and sister, Vernilla Guillory and husband Herman Guillory.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. Visitation will begin on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. A graveside committal will be at 2:00 PM on March 17, 2021 at St. Ann Cemetery in Mamou, LA under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home.
