Lisa Gaye Sonnier

Lisa Gaye Sonnier, 51, of Lake Charles died Monday January 17, 2011 in a local hospital.

Lisa was born August 4, 1959 and raised in Lake Charles. She was a 1977 graduate of LaGrange High School. An active member of St. Margaret Catholic Church, where she served in the Altar Society, Eucharistic Minister and past chairman of Caring Hearts. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Court Our Lady of Fatima #1506, having served in several local offices and state appointed positions. She was active in her community as a member of her neighborhood watch group, and Citizens on Patrol.

Preceding Lisa in death was her father, Wincie Sonnier. Those left to honor and cherish her memory are her mother, Edith Owens Sonnier, Lake Charles and a sister, Susan Jordan and husband John, of Katy, Texas; nephews Stuart and Andrew Jordan.

Visitation will be from 2:30 P.M. till 8:00 P.M Thursday, January 20, 2011 at Johnson Funeral Home with a rosary being prayed at 5:30 PM. Visitation will continue on Friday January 21 from 8:00 A.M. to 12:30 A.M. at the funeral home. A Funeral mass will be held at 1 P.M. Friday in St. Margaret Catholic Church with Father Bill Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Consolota Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers Memorials may be made in her name to St. Margaret, St. Vincent De Paul Society; American Diabetes Association; or W.O Moss Regional Hospital.
