Lizabeth Jane "Janie" Wiggins

Janie Wiggins, 58, of Lake Charles passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 in her daddy’s residence.

Janie was born on September 17, 1962 in Lake Charles, LA to James Darrell and Elizabeth Doyle Wiggins.  She graduated from Alfred M. Barbe High School and Sowela Technical Institute in Lake Charles.

Janie was a loving aunt, and though she never had children, she treated her only niece and nephew as her own, along with her two little schnauzers, “Boo,” and “Brie.”  She enjoyed cooking, always trying new recipes and testing them out on the family.  She also enjoyed watching a scary movie, unless it had something hairy in it, like bigfoot.  Her true passions were traveling, Broadway plays, and preparing for Christmas.  Oh, how she loved Christmas… the shopping, cooking, and decorating all started in January so she would be ready by December.  Janie had a great sense of humor and loved to make us laugh with her witty comments.  We will dearly miss her!

Those left to cherish her memory are her niece, Amanda Harvey, and nephew, Travis Harvey, both of Dallas/Fort Worth; her sister, Suzi Harvey of Lake Charles, and many, many cousins spread all over the south.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother-in-law, J. D. Harvey.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 10:00 AM in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles.
