L.J. "Jay" Carlin, 69, of Iowa died Thursday, October 20, 2011 in a local hospital.
Mr. Carlin was born, raised and lived most of his life in Bell City. He loved hunting, especially squirrel and rabbits. He also enjoyed playing cards and watching westerns.
Jay was a kind, loving, man whom will be most remembered for the love he brought to his family.
Mr. Carlin was a devote Christian, he attended, St. Peter Claver Mission Church.
He leaves to cherish her memory, one sister, Lucille Brown of Iowa; one brother-in-law, Eldridge Dupont of Houston, TX and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fedleas and Marceline Fontenot Carlin; three brothers, Euway Carlin, and wife Rella, Fedric Carlin and wife Ella Mae, and Louis Carlin; two sisters, Annie Mae Dupont and Florence Carlin and one brother-in-law, Willie Brown, Sr.
A special "Thank You" to Donny Anderson, Dea Manuel, Keisha Lewis, Kathy Taylor, and the staff of Home Health Care 2000. "May God bless you all for the exceptional care that you gave to L.J. during his time of need. Our family will always be grateful for your help and support."
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Friday, October 28, 2011 in St. John Vianney Catholic Church under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Father Emmanuel Tanu will officiate. Interment will follow in DeRouen- Lorrain Cemetery. Visitation Friday will be from 10:00 AM until 1:20 PM with a rosary beginning at 1:00 PM in the funeral home.
