Lloyd Carl Fields, Jr., 46, of Cape Coral, FL died Monday, November 09, 2015, as a result of an attack while working at the International Police Training Center in Amman, Jordan.
Mr. Fields lived most of his life in Lake Charles and was a graduate of Barbe High School and the Southwest Louisiana Law Enforcement Training Academy. He served in the United States Army. He worked nearly ten years as a Correctional and Patrol Officer with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office. Mr. Fields has worked the past nine years as an Independent Contractor, working internationally, to train Law Enforcement. He was currently working for DynCorp International. He took great pride in his Country and Law Enforcement and has enjoyed being part of a team that is making a difference in the world. During his time home, Mr. Fields was an avid outdoorsman who loved diving, kayaking, fishing, the beach, traveling and most importantly, spending time with his family and friends. Mr. Fields will be most remembered for his patriotism and devotion to his country. "He will forever be our Sheepdog".
He leaves to honor his memory, his loving wife, Tamara "Tami" Fields of Cape Coral, FL; six children, Kevin Barnhart, Nick Barnhart and Jessica Barnhart, all of Cape Coral, FL; Lloyd Carl "Trey" Fields, III of Lake Charles, Brevan Kyle Fields and Breanna Sage Fields, both of Jennings; only grandchild, Mackynzie Jane Barnhart; parents, Lloyd Carl Fields and wife Anne of Moss Bluff and Sandra Taylor Fields of Laguna Beach, CA; one sister, Thamara Jean Drescher and husband Jonah of Hayden, CO and many aunts, uncles and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and a daughter, Thamara Reneé Fields.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM Thursday, November 19, 2015 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverends John Robert Black and Stuart Sherman were the officiates. Interment with Military Honors followed at Consolata Cemetery. Visitation Thursday began at 10:00 AM.
Pallbearers for the services will be Trey Fields, Roman Fields, Thomas Fields, Brevan Fields, Kevin Barnhart, Nick Barnhart, Mark Bech and Jonah Drescher.
