Lloyd J. St. Clergy

Lloyd J. St. Clergy, 83, of Lake Charles died Thursday, December 29, 2011 in a local hospital.


Mr. St. Clergy served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He worked nearly fifteen years as a Printer for Port Printing followed by over twenty years of service as a Clerk with the US Postal Service. He was a "social butterfly", an active member of Women and Children's Senior Circle Club and a regular participant in the socials and card games of his residence community, the Villas. Mr. St. Clergy loved fishing, woodworking, coaching his son's baseball teams and many years of leading Explorer Scout Troops. He also enjoyed over thirty years of bowling with teams in a local league. He was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church.


Mr. St. Clergy will be most remembered as a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He leaves to honor his memory, his wife, Gloria D. St. Clergy of Lake Charles; three daughters, Diane St. Clergy Gurganus and husband Bob of Ragley, Patricia St. Clergy Benoit and husband Carl of Lake Charles and Pamela St. Clergy Bruney of Lake Charles; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Lloyd Lynnhurst St. Clergy, Jr. of Beaumont, TX; step-mother, Irene St. Clergy of Monroe; sister-in-law, Monica Trottier of Lake Charles; four step-children, Damian Daigle, Darrin Daigle and wife Candy, Shonna Daigle and Valerie Daigle, all of Lake Charles and two step-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by the 1st love of his life, his wife of fifty-six years, Madonna Ryan St. Clergy; his son, David Wayne St. Clergy and his parents, Lloyd Lynnhurst St. Clergy, Sr. and Julia LeBlanc Reynolds.


A mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM Monday, January 02, 2012 at St. Margaret Catholic Church. Father Bill Miller will officiate. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation Sunday will be from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary beginning at 6:00 PM. Visitation Monday will be from 8:00 AM until 10:30 AM in the funeral home.
