Lloyd Lintzen, 85, of Lake Charles, LA, died at 3:53 PM on Saturday, March 26, 2016 in his residence.
Mr. Lintzen was born June 8, 1930 in Eunice, LA, graduated from St. Edmund Catholic High School, and served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He lived in Eunice, LA for a number of years before moving to Lake Charles in 1971. Mr. Lintzen worked in insurance sales and management for Woodman of the World. He was a member of the Optimums Club of Eunice, organized the first Ford Mustang Auto Club in Eunice and was a member of the Million Dollar Club with Woodman of the World and the American Legion Post in Welsh, LA. Mr. Lintzen enjoyed writing poems and songs and was published in the Library of Congress. He never met a stranger and enjoyed talking to anyone, anywhere.
Mr. Lintzen is survived by his wife of twenty-eight years, Edith Lintzen; daughter, Winona Castille and husband Calvin of Carlyss, LA; son, Gregory Lintzen and wife Debbie of Carlyss, LA; step-daughter, Cynthia Devillier and husband Keith of Lake Charles; step-sons, Mark E. Theriot, Sr. and wife Karen of LeBleu Settlement and David W. Theriot of Flower Mound, TX; brother, Donald Lintzen of Baton Rouge; fifteen grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Yves and Beulah Lintzen; brother, John Luke Lintzen; sisters, Helena Ortego and Geneva Manuel; and great-grandchildren, Bryant Vidrine and Emma Grace Reon.
His funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at the University Baptist Church in Lake Charles, under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Brother John Astling will officiate. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be at the church from 10:00 AM until the start of the service.
