Lloyd W. Guidry

August 13, 1934 — April 28, 2013

Lloyd Wesley Guidry, 78, of Lake Charles passed away at 12:15 AM Sunday April 28, 2013 in his residence.


He was a native of Jennings and raised in Jeanerette, LA and graduated from Jeanerette High School. Lloyd received honors in lettering in Football, Baseball, Basketball, and Track. Mr. Guidry retired from Huval Baking Company doing business as Evangeline Maid Bread. He served on the Board of Directors for Mid City Little League and also coached the Lake Charles Lite Lakers semi-pro baseball team. Mr. Guidry was a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving with the Military Police Force. He was also a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose.


Survivors include his wife of fifty-three years, Judy Vincent Guidry; three daughters, Anita Guidry Dugas, Karen Guidry Rayon and husband Randy, and Stacy Guidry Whittington and husband Jerry; one son, Jason Paul Guidry and wife Norma; twelve grandchildren, five of whom he and Judy rasied as their own; Misty Fontenot and Cherri, Darrel Jude Guidry and Amy, Desiree Brooks and Earl, Justin Guidry and Ashley, and Russell Guidry; the remaining other grandchildren are, Ashley Rayon and Jacob, Callie Loftus, Danielle Francis and Skip, Dustin Rayon and Chastity, Jillian Shilling and Dennis, Noelle Mills and Drew, and Erin Guidry and Mike; fourteen great grandchildren, Alexis, Jordan, Courtney, Destiny, Kaylin, Aubrey Jane, Adelyn, Lydia, Maddox, Olivia, Jaelyn, Mykah, Caleb, and one on the way; his sister, Juanita Orusa and husband John; brother, John LaHood, and a special nephew whom was raised with him as a brother, Jon Robert Smith and wife JoLynn. He was preceded by his parents, Claude Joseph and Aimee (Gotreaux) Guidry; and infant brother, Albert Guidry; his great grandson, Jaydon Brooks; and son-in-law, Terry Dugas.


His funeral service will be at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at the Johnson Funeral Home Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Jacob Scott Conner will officiate. Entombment will be in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM and continue on Wednesday from 9:00 AM until time of service.
