Lois Allen Cox

Lois Allen Cox, 82, of Lake Charles died at 10:52 AM on Sunday, November 16, 2014 in a local care facility. Mrs. Cox was born on December 27, 1931 in Lake Charles, LA where she resided all of her life. She was a graduate of Lake Charles High School and received her Master's +30 in education at McNeese State University. Mrs. Cox retired from the Calcasieu Parish School Board where she was a teacher many years and also an administrator in special education. She belonged to the Beta Sigma Phi and Delta Kappa Gamma sororities. Mrs. Cox was also active in the Stonecroft Ministries and was a member of First Christian Church. She enjoyed traveling, cross stitching, and doing crossword puzzles. Those left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Leisha Gremillion of Long Beach, CA and Laurie Cox of Harrisonville, MO. She also leaves behind her beloved pet, Aussie. She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Cox and a sister, Sibyl Klyng. Visitation will begin on Tuesday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM in Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will resume on Wednesday from 11:00 AM until leaving to process to the cemetery at 12:00 noon for graveside services that will take place in Consolata Cemetery.
