Lois Ann Burroughs, 51, of Cameron, LA, died at 8:43 PM on Thursday, September 25, 2014 in a local hospital. Mrs. Burroughs was born December 30, 1962 in DeQuincy, LA and attended DeQuincy High School and South Beauregard High School. She has resided in Cameron for the past thirty years and attended Oak Grove Baptist Church. She enjoyed connecting with friends and making new friends through Facebook and she loved to spend time with her granddaughter, Carlee, who was the center of her world. Lois was a sweet person, who could always find the good in others; she will be missed dearly. Mrs. Burroughs is survived by her daughters, Danielle Doxey and husband Robert "Bubba" Doxey, Jr. of Cameron and Laura Trahan of Reeves, LA; step-children, Jamie Mock and Joseph Mock of Cameron; brother, Lloyd Ashworth of Lake Charles; sisters, Brenda Brown of Longville and Loretta Trahan and husband Curtis of Reeves; granddaughter, Carlee Doxey; step-grandchildren, Addison, Rylee, Jacey, and Brently; and a host of nieces, nephews, family members, and friends. She was preceded in death by her first husband and the father of her children, Willie Trahan; second husband, James Earl Burroughs; and parents, L.G. Ashworth and Judy Sellers. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, September 28, 2014 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Jerry "Bud" Hext will officiate. Burial will follow in Perkins Cemetery in DeQuincy, LA. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM and continue on Sunday from 10:00 AM until the start of the service.
